You’re most fertile after having a baby apparently
Your very very fertile after having a baby 🫣🤭 my midwife told me if I didn’t want to fall pregnant again anytime in the next 6 months to wear condoms or get some sort of contraceptive. 😳😳
Giiiiiirl get yourself to a pharmacy for the emergency contraceptive pill ASAP. Chances are HIGH
Have you had your first period? I was speaking to the Health Visitor today about this and she said it is usual after your first period where you are likely to fall pregnant easy. If you havent had a full cycle yet then you are less likely to be pregnant yet x
Chances are high as you are very fertile after pregnancy/fertile. Unless you are exclusively breastfeeding. While breastfeeding isn’t a reliable contraception, it can be under certain circumstances - EBF and direct from breast/no pumping and only up to 6 months. Even if not all those factors met, if BF a lot it’s more likely to suppress your period return. In any case you can’t judge it on whether you’ve had a period back yet or not because you ovulate before bleeding. So even if you haven’t had a first period, chances are still high because you might be ovulating and were to due to get it back soon. Of course while there is a chance, it’s not a definite and really depends if your body was ovulating which is hard to tell until either you get your period or you take a test.
@Lauren I haven’t got my period yet no. And no I don’t breastfeed or pump. How early can I take a test? Unless my period don’t start now?
If conception has taken place, you would expect a test to be accurate around 2 weeks after but because you don’t know where you are in your cycle and sperm can live up to 5 days, it could be a little longer as then implantation takes 8-12 days approx. on top. So I’d wait 2 weeks to take a test and if no period by 3ish weeks, would take another. If you get to 3 weeks and on the basis of no further unprotected sex, then it would be unlikely anything has happened. I’d use condoms in the interim and once your period has come or negative tests and you are 3+ weeks from this date, then you could consider other contraception too.
Hold up I’m in the same situation, is this still the case if they don’t finish inside?
@Jess That is 80% effective. If you are EBF, it goes up to 98%. I know this because I was told this at my appointment to put in the coil after using this method once 😅
@Jess were doing this, fingers crossed for the 80% then 🤣
@Robyn preach it 🤣
@Charlotte you can get pregnant before your first period
@Chloe yeah my HV said you can only if you have a full cycle after the postpartum bleed .. if there is only short amount of time inbetween them like for me it was only 1-2week after she said I would not have had full cycle and ovulated ( or very unlikely ) in that time x
@Charlotte you can ovulate inbetween then, as soon as 2ish weeks after birth and with non period. Maybe not every women will but a lot can & will ovulate before having a first period. Same as when EBF, you will ovulate before getting the first period back whenever that occurs, that’s why you can end up pregnant before even having had a period. It’s the same for when women come off the pill, some doctors say it’ll take a whole cycle until you can fall pregnant but again not true, some women’s ovulation will restart straight away and before first period. Some HV’s give the worst advice! Only replying so others know.

@Charlotte you usually have to ovulate first in order to have a period 😅, some women don't ovulate but that would be a fertility issue. Or occasionally you can have anovulatory cycles but in general...ovulation comes first and then period (this is a 'full cycle'). So, you can get pregnant again without having a period
More than ever 😬
