Hi! I'm almost 23 weeks with low lying anterior placenta and I have felt movement since 16 weeks and some days would feel them a lot, other days I could feel absolutely nothing. It's still the same but I've been told not to worry. I usually feel movement on the sides, pressure if she's positioned in a certain side of my belly, kicks on the lower tummy. Sometimes it's hard to tell as it feels like gas bubbles/flutters. There's probably about 2/3 days in a week where I can barely feel her and I get very worried but then when I relax and sit down for a while and tune into it then I can feel her. I've been so close to calling triage before but just as I'm about to, I end up feeling her. I mostly feel her in the evenings. I also noticed that if I'm busy doing active things all day and walking around, I don't feel her at all. If you are ever concerned then definitely call triage but I wouldn't worry most of the time as it seems like a lot of us ladies are experiencing the same thing.
Hi Elizabeth, I had my 20 week scan this morning and got told I have a low-lying anterior placenta too. I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy and it just meant the movement was more muffled to the front, but I would feel movement along my side and lower down my tummy. This time around I'm only feeling baby in the evenings so far but the movement will pick up every week and you'll get familiar with times it moves etc. I was always told if you don't feel any movement, eat a slice of toast with jam and lie down for a bit and see if that gets them moving. If you are ever concerned, then you should contact your EPU. I contacted them twice with my last pregnancy when I had reduced movement and they were able to give me a scan and check all was OK.
