night feeds

My LO was around 7 months old when he stopped waking for his night feeds, he just stopped one night and never when back, he has a bottle of cows milk for bed but he barely drinks it tbh xx

@Darcy did you do anything pacific to achieve this and what’s his bed time and nap routine too x

I stopped my 1 year olds night feeds over the past month. He has a 5oz bottle of cows milk in his cot when I put him down and I read him a book and then when he would wake up I would give water instead of milk and eventually he gave up waking up for milk as he wasn’t going to get it

@Jodii I really didn’t if I’m honest, he just stopped his bottle one night, maybe it’s cos he filled up with loads through the day🤣 I fed him at 7ish and then he goes down to bed for 8 so he’s full from his food. I’ve always stuck to a routine with him as well. He sleeps all night, wakes up around half9/10 then I’ll put him back down for a nap at around haf12/1 he will sleep for a good hour and then he’s awake from around 2 until his actual bed time. I did drop his second nap as he would wake up around 10ish and wouldn’t settle back down unless he came in with me xx

@Kay-louise @Darcy i’m a ftm but routine is so important but recently he’s been sleeping so poorly,he wakes up around 7 has a nap at 11 and that’s if for the day goes down to bed around 7/730 but still seems to wake up more than 3 times a night sometimes taking over a hour to get back down. if you don’t mind me asking how much ounces of water did you give your little one before he stopped waking up x

@Darcy my LO wakes up at 7am has a nap at 11am and is fed,bathed and in bed for 7/730 each night but still seems to wake up 2/3 times for milk 🫠xx

@Jodii I gave the same as what I was giving for milk minus 2-3oz as it would result in a nappy change xx

My boy still drinks 1-2 4oz bottles during night. Usually 1 bottle but sometimes on occasion he’ll have 2 bottles. I’ve tried all sorts to stop the night feeds, but nothing works so I just carry on with the feed. We do have some nights where he won’t have one but that’s rare x

@Jena am i feeding my son too much then? i give him 7oz and sometimes he’s up 4 times and he will have a bottle 2/3 times depending on what’s times he’s woke up x

@Jodii I wouldn’t say you’re feeding him too much, same with my boy, I feel if they didn’t need it, they wouldn’t wake. Seeing as I’ve tried different things like water instead of milk or just sitting a comforting (didn’t work) to encourage dropping that bottle as well, he must need it or he wouldn’t wake surely x

@Jodii Same as I haven’t swapped to cows milk yet, my little boy has kind of stopped eating solid food (not completely) but he doesn’t eat like he used to so I feel he needs the formula still so he’s getting the nutrients that he needs in which cows milk doesn’t have x
