Last nap

So my daughter is 8 months old and has stopped taking her last nap of the day by 5pm and would sometimes get so tired by 5:30/6pm but her bedtime is usually around 8:30-9pm - should I let her take a short nap at 5/6pm or keep her awake from the previous nap when she wakes up around 3pm? Then she’s awake for 5 hours, will she become overtired?

Same here I've been cutting the last nap so she has a 30-40 min nap by 5:30 and often has a small 10 min sleep before her last feed

What time does she get up? Usually an earlier bed time would be better because they tend to sleep better before midnight. 5 hour wake window is probably going to be too much and could lead to more night wakings because of being overtired but it’s so difficult at this age! Could you extend the first 2 wake windows to push the second nap slightly later?

@Lauryn she wakes up around 7-8am, and gets so tired 2 hours after waking up! The first 2 wake windows are between 2-3 hours, any longer she gets super cranky but she’s also a short napper (45 mins each) so unsure what to do really

Can you not bring her bedtime forward? My little boy refuses his last nap everyday so he goes to bed between 7 and 7:30

@Lauren I really don’t want an early wake up, I’m currently pregnant and putting her down early then waking up at 6am is soo difficult 😭

I hate the early wake ups too but I have to do it as it's what's best for him and he needs the earlier sleep as he won't go for his nap. It's either that or you try a power nap but if it's being refused then I'd for the early wake up... overtiredness causes more night wakes so I guess it depends which you'd prefer haha
