@Beth yes way more engorged and I can feel when it fills back up opposed to my right side.
@Beth also when pumping I can get 6oz out of that breast in less than 30 minutes vs my right side literally only gives me an ounce now.
following because I have been having the same problem, my babies also two weeks old and overnight I just practically stopped producing milk and idk what happened
@Alana so interesting! I have no insight to why that is or how to sort it but best of luck in doing so. If you have a lactation consultant near you, it may be worth reaching out! x
I experienced that. Maybe not dropping supply overnight but my left side always produced half of my right side (proved repeatedly with pumping), and my baby didn't really want to latch on the left most of the time. I dropped feeding from my left side altogether when baby was something like 7 or 8 months. He's 16 months now and still feeds off my right side (he's always been topped up with a bottle though, from day 1). Sorry, no advice but I'll second Beth's recommendation of seeing a lactation consultant if needed.
@Monika @Beth Thank you guys so much! I definitely am going to consult with a lactation consultant as soon as possible because I am afraid of drying up altogether
Hey, you’re all doing a fab job! Most people have one “lazy boob” for me it’s my left I’ll get 60ml out of that I’m 20 mins at 3 am and 100ml out of the right. It’s is normal to have one that produces more than the other. You may have a slight case of over producing in one breast as well, 6oz is an amazing amount for so soon pp, 1-2 oz is pretty common 2 weeks pp. you’re already doing the right things, keep offering/ pumping the slower breast first. Have you tried “power pumping”? Pump for 20 mins, wait 10 mins while the breast essentially forgets that it has just produced and then pump again for 20, this was recommended to me by my infant feeding lady to boost supply x
How do you know your left breast is producing more - are you more engorged on that side? (Genuine question) I think you’re doing the right think - keep putting baby to your right breast first and it should start to produce due to demand.
