If you don't want to do cabbage leaves, there is Cabo Cream which has worked well for me but it's a little pricey.
I’ve just gone cold turkey. Currently hour 18 🤣🥲 my friend who’s a midwife said cut down pumping time, then drop a pump etc but I couldn’t be bothered
@Ellie are your boobs not like rocks?! 🤣
@Emily they hurt more through the night but they’re not too bad today! 🤣 just keep jumping in the shower for relief
@Ellie I have to pump like 4 hourly or they will literally explode!!! So scared to get mastitis 🥲
you could try cutting down the amount of time you are pumping. It's all about supply and demand, so your boobs need to know they demand is less. Well done for doing it exclusively for 5 weeks, that is such a commitment. I hated pumping
@Emily I was pumping every 3, it’s hard, I’ve had mastitis and it went away after 24h
Cold turkey is not advisable especially if you have an oversupply, start reducing the length of time that you pump and pump for Comfort as opposed to pumping til you are empty, then drop a pump every 2-3 days until you are down to one a day. It’s a slow process but is the best way of preventing mastitis
@Emily I’m finally over the painful boobs! Stopped pumping on Thursday afternoon Friday and Saturday was painful, just hard tender boobs, Sunday and today is much better, they’re still full but not sore 😀
@Ellie me too!! I haven’t pumped for 3 days and they are finally not as painful and my milk is drying up!! It’s deffo a long process
@Emily we’re up to a week! my more producing boob is still tender but no pain 😅
Cold compress, slow down the pumping slowly from every 2 hours to every 3 to 4 to 5 etc. i also hear putting cabbage leaves on them helps!
