Baby crying in car seat

Has anyone else experienced their baby crying a lot once put in the car seat? And I don’t mean normal fussing/crying, my little one will literally scream and cry till her voice goes and it’s making solo driving with her so overwhelming. Any advice/tips?

Hi, yes my kids were both crying in there. Not much advice though 😕 just make sure they are safe. They want to see you and want to be close to you. They were also better in the morning so just plan around routine. They will eventually grow out of it but it seems like forever. If you must travel a lot you could try different carseat maybe?

Yes, at 17 months he’s never really grown out of it 😬 we try to limit car journeys to nap times or short trips and distract as much as possible

Yes I went through this and tbh I still am- just not as intense. I found that taking her out everyday, even if it’s a drive around the block, helped and I asked her every day if she wanted to go out, see the ducks, go to the park etc. she’s just turned a year old and I’ve been doing this since she was about 8-9 months. I didn’t really take her out on my own before that. I now always give her a snack as soon as I put her in the car seat (crisps are perfect as they don’t make too much mess)

My little girl (now 11m) went through this phase. I feel it was around 3/4 months old. The happy song by Imogen heap was a life saver! Try and avoid eating in the car seat as it’s a choking risk. 💕

How old is baby? My little one HATED the car seat till about 4 months then loved it and would fall straight asleep, now at 10 months nearly she is ok for about 30 minutes then just gets like restless and irritated!

Yes! My girl is 8 months and has always hated the car. It’s so hard to go places. I plan driving around her nap time because she will fall asleep if it’s time for a nap 😅

Yes until like 8 months old.

Yes- i ended up putting my baby in the front with me as it became so dangerous to drive. He would get so upset to the point he was choking/being sick and i was so distracted trying to look in my mirror to see him. He still doesn’t love it, but cries way less and i find i can normally soothe him with him next to me

Maybe worth a fit check to make sure nothing about the car seat is bothering her?
