Sleeping

Girls, I need advice!! My baby is only wanting to sleep on his belly!! I went back to work last month and family is taking care of him while I work. Turns out both of his grandmas have been putting him to nap on his belly and now he ONLY wants to sleep like that. He sleeps for longer stretches that way, but I am scared to put him down for the night. What should I do!? Just let him be? He is about to be 4 months on the 5th and he holds his head up pretty well. Any suggestions? Ideas? Words of encouragement or affirmation lol. Thanks!!

Is he able to to roll himself back over? If so, he should be fine, especially if his crib is right by you and he’s good about waking you up if he needs you. If you also have an owlet to monitor his breathing, that certainly gives me a lot of peace of mind because my son always rolls onto his belly in the middle of the night

I let my baby 3 months sleep on his belly I just check on him frequently. My daughter also liked to sleep on her stomach.

If he they can roll themselves over to sleep like that then it's fine leave them but u still should always put them on there bk to sleep and what they do when they r asleep can't be stopped. But I definitely wouldn't put them on their stomach to fall asleep to start off with. If they can't roll yet they aren't strong enough to prevent suffocation even if they look like it. My baby has been rolling himself on to his stomach since 10 weeks but any doctor, midwife, health visitor will tell u to put them on there bk when going down for a nap even if they roll over immediately at least they put themselves in the position it's safer for them to do it then for us because they have more control when they do it x

My son slept on his belly as a new born. I would turn him as well but he had bad reflux so he slept on my chest. Still sleeps on my chest at times. After about 6 months he got better with his reflux and went on his back on his own. He’s 14 months now But if he rolls on his own he should be fine . That’s what my sons peds said

He is not rolling on his own but does lift up his head and kind of gets comfortable on his own. I am super scared to leave him like that at night cuz no one is watching him. During the day someone is always there and can intervene if anything

My son slept on his belly a lot when he was around 4-6m , after 6m he’s been rolling around and standing up in his crib so I didn’t see an issue, he’s 2.8yo now and still sleeps like that. I personally prefer to sleep on my belly too and always have been. I remember when he was napping as a newborn he’d nap on my chest or supervised in a little cot downstairs.

My lb has been sleeping on his front since birth. He was on the neonatal unit and that is how they had him positioned xx

My son has been sleeping on his belly since he was a month old. He’s now 7 months and thriving! He had really good head control and could turn side to side before I allowed him to sleep that way over night. Can’t say I’ve ever been sleep deprived because he gets his best sleep on his tummy and has been sleeping through the night ever since. It all depends on what you’re comfortable with x
