Yes it counts my son will say es for es and eeeessseee for please and cheese. My boy is 20 months and only says about 8 words. His main words are muma and car lol 😆 and ess when you ask him anything.
@Louise the only animal sounds my son does are moo and quack😂 I try to teach them him but he usually just laughs at my impressions😂
@Paula until a few months ago he only had muma and dada, then one day he just randomly starting coming out with allsorts. His third word was "eat" which is very on brand for him😂
I think my son says a handful of words if that..😂 I’m not worrying. He was an early walker, they tend to say they do one than the other. Not sure many 2 year olds can say 50 words 😂x
@Chloe I was thinking it sounds like way too many for 2! Yeah mine was an early walker as well, he just prioritised all things physical and now he's figured all that out it's like he's decided it's time to talk😂
Yes it counts!
I saw health visitor this week and asked this, I said my boy can do 12 including animal noises but it's also about their understanding - whether little one understands "where are your shoes" "pass me a book" etc and she wasn't concerned about him doing 12!
Bless him. Yeah my son never ever said dad or dad haha we have muma and car quiet alot he'll say es for yes when asked something and will odd times open the fridge and ask for cheese with eeeesssseee and when he wants boobie I make him say please eeeesssseeee again lol x
Yes that counts. So does animal noises etc! I use that as an example because my daughter is obsessed with “aminals!!” and wants to know the noise they all make. It’s really interesting when you’re trying to think what noise a giraffe makes or something 🤣 X
