No fear with strangers

Our little one keeps picking an adult in the weekly music class and becoming “friends” for the session with them. This week he reversed and sat on a ladies knee 😳 we both didn’t know how to react. He is so loved and gets cuddles/attention constantly. Would you be worried? Am I overreacting? Or is he just exploring and enjoying making friends? How would you react? Only 17 months.

I completely get where you’re coming from, I think he’s probably just a sociable character! And if it’s a class he’s probably seen them before as he gets older you’ll be able to talk to him about stranger danger x

My girl is starting to become a social butterfly, and that’s with other kids or adults. Like you itll be at toddler group and so surrounded by other parents and I personally feel comfortable, so long as the other parent doesn’t mind being handed a few toys lol. I think it’s sweet watching her interact and explore, especially as she doesn’t really mingle much apart from once a week at sessions. X

Its normal at this age, in the next few months you will probably see him start to become more aware and potentially nervous of strangers

My daughter did something similar the other day and reached her arms out to a random old man on a bench to be picked up I was surprised x

Nice to not feel alone and this seems pretty normal! Having kids really does make you overthink everything

It’s coz he’s confident, independent and secure. Nothing to worry about 🥰
