C Section Recovery

Hi all, just after some advice, I had a c section 10 weeks ago when I gave birth to twins. They were in the neonatal unit for 6 weeks so I’ve not rested to allow myself to heal. I’ve had 3 lots of anti biotics and an anti biotic gel and it’s just not healing. I have two what I think are quite large holes, the doctors have said it’s healing but I need to keep it dry but I have a large tummy so gets quite sweaty. Can anyone recommend how you’ve stopped your stomach from being like this and how you got it to heal properly. 10 weeks is far too long to have an open wound. Thanks in advance.

I had an open wound for 12 weeks, I over done it and lost a stitch. Had a gaping hole, then gained a pocket of fluid 😵‍💫 but for weeks on end my scar was just leaking. I constantly had a gauze there and changed and cleaned it with sterile water given by the nurses. Eventually it basically congealed and the last bit came out and it just closed. I would use a gauze each time and just clean it twice a day 😊

I haven’t had any holes but I’m on week 10 now and it’s only just starting to feel “better”. I also had three lots of antibiotics to try and reduce the soreness and leakage because it just wasn’t healing properly. I was advised to get medical grade gauze/swabs and slot them in between the two folds of skin either side of the scar to keep the area as dry as possible (and keep it clean of course). Not very sexy but it does work!

Thank you! I’ve got the gauze now and it seems to be working so 🤞🏻
