Any help would be appreciated x

My 6 month old has started doing this, if you watch the video he is head down but looking up? It’s mostly when someone is talking to him or he’s looking at another person? Any ideas what this could be?

What a cutie!! 🥰 To me it looks like his neck muscles are tired? How does he do on tummy time? Was he sitting up right before? I would show your doctor at your next visit, especially if he keeps doing it! Could just be that he was tired that day though! I will also mention just be careful with the food while he is hanging his head, definitely a bigger choking risk! 💙

@Emily Aw thank you🥰 Hes started doing it just the last few days! He has slept well recently so I’m not sure about that but I’m a bit worried, never seen a baby do that before! Thanks for your advice Emily I will do xx

He definitely got a cheeky look about him , gorgeous boy Like the comment above said could be his neck muscles getting tired might be worth talking to your doctor

How often is he doing it and is it only in the high chair? Also is he only doing it on one side or both? I think he may just not quite be there with his neck control yet. If it is only one side then it could be the muscles on one side of the neck are a bit weaker than the other side. I would take him to your doctor, show them the video and stop solids until you have an answer of what is going on. If you have a high chair that slightly reclines you could probably feed him purée in that position to stop the neck falling forward, incase he really wants solids.

If he can't hold his head up properly yet, then he shouldn't really be in a highchair. Unless he is just tired & is about to fall asleep in his food ☺️

everyone keeps saying “he cant hold up his head” but this is clearly a deliberate action. hes not just dropping his head. hes slowly moving it in and out of that position. its probably just a random quirk that he has since developing his ability to move and hold his own head. i wouldnt be too concerned since hes clearly a happy boy. even if it is a little creepy looking 😅

Definitely check with your pediatrician, but our LO started looking one way because he had tight shoulder muscles from always turning in the crib to sleep on his belly. Gentle stretches and two fingers strength massages helped.

Honestly not sure, what would worry me is him going it whilst he’s eating… he might just be trying to look at things differently for example my baby keeps tilting his head back and looking at things upside down😅 where as your baby is doing it forward I don’t think it’s anything to worry about, I’d just redirect him if he’s doing it whilst eating

I feel like he’s doing it deliberately 😂 looks like he’s figuring out that he can still see people when he moves his head like that! Always best to check if you’re worried though ☺️ x

He looks like his doing it on purpose, baby’s and toddlers do strange things 🤣 my little boy used to do this and shake his head from side to side then look around all dazed, he still does this and spins around on the spot 😂

My girl did this when she started holding her head up,she's 16 months now and still does it. I personally don't think it's anything to worry about. X

Is he teething? Sometimes babies have inner ear issues when they teeth and do strange things with their heads. If not; it could just be a quirk unless he has had ongoing neck issues.
