Honestly you won’t know until you try it. Both mine were very positive but I feel most of it is mindset. My first delivery could have been a very negative experience if I wasn’t as calm as I was about it
I delivered both babies vaginally. My first, I had an epidural and didn't really feel anything she also gave me a second-degree tear, but my recovery was good. My second, I had no pain medication. My water also broke on its own. The contractions are what hurt the most OMG, and he gave me a first degree tear. My recovery was a little rough. A lot of pelvic pain and body aches, I guess, because I felt it all, and that was the way my body was recovering from it idk.
I had a planned c-section for which the recovery was fairly easy, much easier than I expected. I went on to have an unmedicated VBAC. The birth was a very positive experience and I would do it again anytime. The recovery wasn't as easy as I thought it would be (2nd degree tear but otherwise no major complications) but not worse than the c-section. I would say it took longer to fully heal "down there" because the stitches were a bit too tight but I wasn't in any major pain.
My first was vaginal but I ended up needing an episiotomy as i started tearing and then forceps, the healing was miserable, i couldnt do anything. From then on I elected for c sections and I had 2 16 months apart..the c sections were so much easier for me as I could walk and move fine
I had 2 vaginal births and both went well. No serious complications I was recovered in body from both within a week. I had a minor tear that needed 1 stitch with my first, nothing with my 2nd. But I had some pelvic pain with my 2nd that I'm seeing a chiropractor for. Mostly it went away with exercise- I was going to the store and going for walks around the neighborhood during week 1. Both labors started spontaneously. My advice for a higher chance of an uncomplicated vaginal birth is to resist mefical intervention as much as you can. If they advise you to induce for anything but a serious complication for you or the baby, resist that. I did have an epidural both times and pitocin drip with my first. Not sure if they gave me any for my second because labor was progressing pretty rapidly before they got the epidural ready. I know that VBACs have a chance of resulting in an emergency c section during labor, as long as you're ok with that then I say why not go for it?
I had a traumatic first vaginal birth. Second time around I almost slept through my delivery because of the epidural 😅 I literally woke up and pushed about 3 times before baby was out with no tears or anything but my doctor was also amazing and letting the baby do most of the work and letting my body naturally stretch so I wouldn’t tear
I have no basis for comparison as I delivered vaginally and it was fine. Long and intense but fine. I have a few friends who have had successful VBACs and they all say they preferred that to the C-section but that’s anecdotal. Good luck whatever ends up happening 😊
Delivered both mine vaginally. First was a hospital birth, had to be monitored, had some pain relief, but it still hurts like a b***ch, had a second degree tear, pretty easy recovery. Second was sooo much easier, had an unplanned home birth, obv no pain relief, she just basically shot out, now that’s a birth I would want again for sure. However, recovery was slightly more hiccupy, because it happened sooo fast and also I was up and about 3 days after delivery with toddler in tow too. Either way, totally recommend a vaginal delivery, with or without pain meds, it’s so damn empowering!
I had an emergency c-section with my first and an unmedicated VBAC with my second. To be completely honest, I am more traumatized by my unmedicated birth than my c-section. I did not want to go unmedicated, I just didn't get there in time to have an epidural. I think a vaginal birth with epidural would have been the best option for me and I'd choose that over the c-section for sure. The recovery from vaginal definitely was easier though by a long shot.
I had an episiotomy and still tore, but it was still a super positive experience. Everything was ultimately my decision and I felt calm and in control the entire time. The scariest bit is not knowing when it’s all gonna happen, every twinge you’re like is this it haha
Both of my labors were induced and vaginal delivery. I had an epidural. I would have preferred to have spontaneous labors but it is what it is. I did have a small tear with my first but the healing process was fine. I plan for a vaginal delivery for my next child.
