i did hear the other day in a tiktok video of a mother that having the baby’s chin where the clogged duct is while they suckle is meant to be an effective method 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

If you have a fever/chills, etc then it’s mastitis and you’ll prob need antibiotics tbh. If it’s just a lump on your boob then it’s still only a block and you can treat at home. It’s caused by inflammation so take ibuprofen. Use cold packs on the clog when you’re not feeding/expressing (I did 20 min on/20 min off with an ice pack). Stick to your normal nursing/pumping schedule. Drink extra water. Heat used to be recommended but this is old advice. I used to use a warm flannel or a hot shower right before I expressed to get things moving, but otherwise try to avoid it. Also avoid tight clothes. If you google lymphatic massage for blocked ducts then you should find advice on a really gentle massage technique that can help but don’t use firm pressure or anything hard, it’s a feather light touch. If you find you get a lot of blocks, take sunflower lecithin as a supplement (you can also get soy, but I was told specifically sunflower). It helps prevent it. Good luck ♥️

I bought this thing that heats up and vibrates from Frida almost instantly helped my clogged ducts

@Rhiannon thank you, this was really helpful! I’ve had to resort to antibiotics as I was really unwell yesterday so defo think it’s mastitis! Xxx
