My toddler favorites her dad & will listen to him, but doesn’t listen to me, & it really makes me lose my mind, how can I get my toddler to respect me?

I have no clue, but I threaten my 2 yr old with the shoe 😭. I don’t hit him I just show him the shoe and then he listens. But only after asking 20x literally. I’ve tried the sit down method and look at me. Calm him down but he ignores me in purpose. When his dad tells him to do something he does it within two asks 😩. I don’t want to bring out the shoe but it’s been the only way 😓
