Breastfeeding shouldn’t hurt, nipples shouldn’t crack or bleed. If so it’s due to a latching. Your nipples will be raw the 1st month or 2 but that’s because your body’s not use to bf every 2 hours or dealing with baby cluster feeding. Cluster feeding is baby getting breast ready for a growth spurt! Hydration is important, you need slightly more calories. But still try to eat clean majority of the time (wish somebody said that to me) baby weight doesn’t just fall off for everybody when bf like I was lead to believe 🤣 I get the metal aspect of it though! I couldn’t wait to be done, but now I miss it.. and wish I didn’t wish past it. It can be overstimulating at times. But it’s a great bond you’ll have! That you won’t regret at the end of the day. Every person is different, don’t get discouraged or stressed. Just try and learn your baby and your body. What positions work for you and what’s comfy! I wish you and new baby the best!
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK547437/ I learned about LactMed from a nurse friend of mine. It’s amazing and it gives you actual facts backed by research!
@Kendle yes I do have a Hakka as well I had used that with my last before I decided to change to pumping I would get a lot more from my Hakka then my pump I also didn’t have a very good pump or the correct flanges I didn’t know about all that until I started my relactation journey but thank you so much for all the wonderful information I will look into that site as well! ☺️
The non battery breast pump Haaka was amazing for me! I didn’t use my electric pump until 4/5m pp. I just fed baby, an used the Haaka on the opposite breast. It filled up super quick due to the let down baby initiated! (not sure if I got the 1st or 2nd generation. Heard mixed things about suction of 3rd generation but it’s also neat for the fact you can pump straight into a bottle base like a normal electric pump!) Like kinda said above, doing both breast at the same time can help get more milk pumped. Whether it’s baby and haaka/pump. Or just pumping both at the same time! Bf if strictly supply and demand! If there’s a demand, your body will make the supply. First 1-2 hrs after birth is called “the golden hour” cuddle baby as much as you can skin to skin and let them suckle/stimulate on both breasts as much as possible! Skin to skin and stimulation is what’s gonna make that demand for milk to come in. More stimulation = more milk
