@Laura this is an awesome tip thank you!
Following… cause same! 😭
When my kid makes me mad from hitting or something I was start singing ms rachel "stop breathe slowly in and out..."
I do a lot of making them think it was their idea or redirecting. Oh look at this? Wanna try? And then I say good idea I like that better and smile.
Put headphones on and ignore them. If they are doing something dangerous stop it then go back to ignoring them
Honestly I just let my girl have it . If she has one I just say “okay it’s okay have your tantrum, then come hug” if she’s throwing a tantrum over me not allowing her to have something I just say “I’m sorry but you can’t have everything” then usually she cries and I say do you want a hug? then she calms down instant . Sometimes I’ll say do you want to play with this instead , and that helps too !
Girrrllll, following because lord knows I'm trying to do better. 🙏 I'll tell you one thing that helps me. It's whisper or lower your voice. Kids always listen better with a low voice versus yelling. And it kinda forces you to feel more regulated in the moment.
