I’ve tried that one and it made me worse think that’s why they have given me this new one, might just battle on with the cyclizine xx
I would feel very nervous of a new licensed drug. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, and the chances are it is more than likely safe, but they are never actually tested on pregnant women anyway as they can't be, so there's always a risk ☹️
I was on cyclizine and prochlorperazine and neither helped. They put me on xonvea yesterday and I honestly feel the most human I've felt for about 10 days! It is also fully licensed for pregnant women and actually tested on pregnant women and has no significant risk. You can research it online and on the BNF x
@Charlotte there's been nutliple trials on xonvea on pregnant women, with no adverse effects x
@Emma hey I’ve sent you a message ☺️
I’m taking xonvea I didn’t know it was newly licensed but it’s changed my life for the better. Nothing else worked for me and I was considering an abortion, as I just couldn’t handle the constant sickness.. I have a 14 month old son who I was barely able to parent due to how unwell I have been. It was also traumatic for him as I couldnt leave the bathroom for hours and he was screaming when I was being sick. It’s been utter hell. But these tablets have pretty much stopped the sickness all together if I have a bad day I may be sick a couple of times but the nausea dosnt stick around I can just get on with my day. I’ve been on them for a month and I have been sick three days in this time… I was vomiting 15+ times before taking them. My sickness with my son didn’t stop untill I was 8 months pregnant.. I didn’t know about antisickness medication and I wished I did as my whole pregnancy was ruined I was depressed emtional in and out of hospital due to dehydration etc…
Xonvea uses the same active ingredients as have been used in the US for years, it’s just recently been licensed in the UK (2018 i think) and was in 2024 added to the RCOG guidelines for pregnancy sickness. It is the only drug licensed for pregnancy sickness in the UK. Honestly it was a game changer for me. I was extremely ill with my first pregnancy, lost a lot of weight, bedridden other than hospital admissions for rehydration, but had not heard of Xonvea. This pregnancy i was on Xonvea and it turned my sickness into more like morning sickness instead which was incredible as life just continued as normal. Def recommend joining the hyperemesis gravidarum group on here!
Only person I know who has tried it had a really bad reaction with awful cramping and light bleeding and had to have an emergency scan… all was fine thankfully but it definitely put me off trying it when offered. I got prescribed prochlorperazine as an alternative to cyclizine, make sure you don’t get the one to dissolve in your mouth as that is almost worse than the nausea lol
