What’s the reason for asking for a c section?

@Sara I have been told my whole pregnancy my baby is measuring big , and they'd have to induce me if in 2 weeks time he is growing to much still , I am anxious and would much rather a c section

I had my daughter at 36 weeks nothing wrong with asking

I was told the same a couple of weeks before my due date because of gestational diabetes. They estimated him being around 9 pounds. I got horrifically scared as they said he may get stuck etc etc. and I ended up having an elective c section. In the end he was only 7lbs 12 and I wish I had tried for a natural, it’s completely your choice though. I’m currently pregnant with my second and hoping for a vbac. Fingers crossed. Speak to your midwife about it xx

I had an emergency c section with my first after a traumatic induction and getting to 9cm dilated. I was induced due to gestational diabetes. I also had gestational diabetes with my second and had to be induced again. Despite me not wanting an induction due to how it went with my first, I was really pushed into trying for a VBAC. At my 37 week scan they told me that baby would be around 9lb if I was induced at 39 weeks. My induction was scheduled for the day that I reached 39 weeks but they knew I was really hesitant and was considering an elective c section. It ended up that I rang them when I was 38+4 and told them that when I came in, I wanted a c section and no induction. They just said yea no problem, we’ll add you to the surgery list for that day but if there’s any emergencies come in, you may have to wait. My second son was born by elective c section at exactly 39 weeks weighing 7lb 8oz so nowhere near the 9lb odd they were predicting!

@Sara it’s mad how wrong it can be isn’t it sometimes!! My cousin got told she was having a 10lb baby, and 2 weeks later she gave birth and the baby was 7lb somethin. Lately they’ve been proper strict on c sections. They don’t wanna do them unless they have to, I’ve gotta have one (in 4 weeks) but that’s due to my health as they said it’d be to risky to be natural but they where saying the amount of people that they have to say no to because so many people now a days r just askin and they don’t want to as they don’t recommend it. Xxx
