PAPP-A

Anyone else been told they have low PAPP-A levels and have to take aspirin? Just keen to know if there’s anyone in the same boat 😌

Just had the call 5 mins ago to be told the same. Trying not to overthink😩x

I've been told I need aspirin every night before bed, but I don't know why tbh no one told me why😕

@Cameron Jade did they say you need more scans throughout your pregnancy along side the aspirin? X

Wanted to give you all something positive. I had my baby 4 weeks ago, and she was a low papp-a baby. It's a risk factor and not a guarantee that anything is wrong. She's perfect. I did have gestational diabetes but that runs on my partners side. Baby also had a 2 vessel umbilical cord, which they used to be really concerned about, but now more and more babies are being born healthy with no issues where as it used to be believed it was linked to unwell babies but as time goes on its showing that it's not the case. Take your aspirin before bed, and you'll be fine. They'll keep a closer eye on you, and you'll get extra scans as they will check growth and the oxygen flow from the placenta to baby. If there are any issues, it'll be picked up quickly. There is a fantastic fb page worth joining! Xx https://www.facebook.com/groups/129843767631323/?ref=share

@Paige yes, the 20 week scan will be a little longer for extra checks too x

I should add low papp-a babies may grow slower, which is why they will want to keep an eye on you and generally be smaller babies, but that's not all babies. My daughter was born at 38+4 and weighed 7lb 6.5oz xx

Just to echo what Deb said, I was in the low Papp-a in my first pregnancy. I had to take aspirin and had all the extra scans. I was told my baby was measuring small, and then ended up with a perfectly formed 8lb little boy at 41 weeks!
