Had ours come a couple of weeks ago, literally just chatted to us about how we were feeling, whether we felt ready, how I was doing mentally, mentioned some bits about smoking and safe sleep and played with our dog for a bitđ was a very laid back visit
I stressed so much to make sure that the house was as sorted as possible, because weâve been renovating too but she didnât even look. Straight in to the lounge and was a really nice visit. Didnât need to stress at all!
i wouldnât worry about baby proofing a house for a newborn, just make sure your cot placement is good (not next to the radiator or by a window), the house is generally clean and tidy, not expecting you to have everything spotless but just polite to clean up if you have people coming over. theyâll talk to you about how youâre feeling and answer any questions you have. i didnât have a health visitor come until afterwards so not sure if itâs the same
Thanks everyone, it was really straightforward as everyone said, she just came into the living room and chatted with us. Weâre having renovations done so I was a bit paranoid sheâd say something but she didnât even mention it

Hi! I had mine come round a few weeks ago, she didn't look at the house at all, just sat with me in the lounge and asked if we've got a car seat sorted and know about safe sleep etc, if we smoke, basics.. it was quite a quick visit tbh xx
