Dummy

My baby has a tongue tie, she isn’t taking dummies very well.. do I keep trying to find a dummy that works or will she settle without a dummy and how do babies settle without 1? My first girl had a dummy and I found it helped her soothe

Literally in the same boat here! We had it snipped last week but dummies are so hard for him to keep even though he absolutely LOVES to suck to soothe himself. Supposedly mam are good but I'm not having much luck with them. I tried a random nuk dummy earlier today and it seemed better, but maybe just a fluke, I don't know

@Mia 🌼 I’ve got a round bib one that she will take for maybe 5 minutes but just spits it out ☹️ I’ve tried mam as well! She’s suffering with gas pain so like your boy she finds comfort in sucking on something

We found the tommee tippee dummies work best for my LO with quite a significant tongue tie. Just takes some learning and getting used too and for their muscles to develop a bit more

I second @Ayesha those are the only ones my baby can keep in their mouth and get suction. Ours has an upper lip tie.

I didn’t give my daughter a dummy and I haven’t given my new baby a dummy either, as they don’t seem to need it. So they don’t necessarily need one. I think it’s depending on each individual child

Coming back to this, I spoke with a tongue tie trained midwife this morning and asked about dummies and she actually said that the cheapest of the cheap are the best ones! Just in case anyone was still wondering
