Any idea?

Hi mamas! My lo from last 2 days not feeding well. He gets hungry and whenever I give him the milk he takes for a second then right after he moves the bottle away and scream or cry. Any one else having this ?

How much is your little one feeding? Could it be that they are getting too much and just not hungry? We had this happen a few weeks back. Seemed hungry so upped feeds but it resulted in not wanting as much. Lasted about a week and I was worried he would not be having enough milk/gain weight. What worked is try to distract them eg bouncing/singing a bit before or sit down without giving milk so he associates the position with something else. Take more breaks and distract them with a toy… Sometimes one of us had to hold him upright and the other feed him (hold the bottle). It drove me crazy with worry. Then it stopped, still don’t know what or why it happened. At the time I was worried about the baby developing bottle aversion which I read lot of people struggle with, so here’s what you could try if not already: 1. Monitor weight gain (if you feel like they aren’t eating enough go check in with a HV or GP) 2. Distract baby with “happy” things like singing

3.change feeding position or place if you can  4.feed to demand but monitor weight gain- I spoke to my GP about amounts and she said sometimes babies can have a periods where they eat more and then another week a bit less, so but again overall weight gain is smth to monitor 5. Could it be colic? Have they had this before? Does it happen at a particular time of day or for all feeds? Worth always considering allergies so speak to GP if worried or persisting would be what I’d do 6. Could try to do smaller more frequent feeds

He has been taking way less feeds from these 2 days too.,I have tried frequent and all that but nothing worked so far. He just won’t take it after 2/3 sips.

Have you tried moving up a teat size?x

@Lara Yeah dear that’s changed aswell… looks like he is bored of milk :/

Any other symptoms? I was told if allergies they might not want to eat… either way best to speak to GP and a health visitor!
