Toys

My son is 5months on the 29th and I've read he should be playing with toys by now?? Like shaking them for example. Is this right? He follows them and eventually grabs them and then bites them but doesn't actively play?

My boy will reach for, pull and shake (though not sure it’s intentional) toys that hang over him from his play gym/mat thing but I find if I try to give him a toy, he just throws his arms at it and hopes a hand lands. He has strong grip when he holds my fingers or hair but not great at gripping toys unless it’s on his playgym. He was 5 months old this past Monday

My little one will grabs them and then bites, zero interest to play with them or shake. She is 4.5 months old

My boy plays in a sense, he's interested in his toys and will grab, pull, chew, turn them around and look at the different colours/patterns. But it's not intentional play, more exploring

My 5 month old twins will actively play with toys hanging above them in their baby gym/pram. They also know that if they press certain buttons on specific toys then they will sing / light up. Introduce toys with cause and effect I found this really helps with them during playtime!
