Bleeding during pregnancy

Did anyone ever bleed during pregnancy for no reason but still went on to give birth vaginally with no need for any medical intervention? 🙏🏻

Yes! I had 5 bleeding episodes, so 5 hospital stays with no explanation as to why and went on to have a completely natural labour with no complications and a healthy baby. It was a very scary pregnancy but apparently some women just bleed and they have no idea why. My doctor said it’s usually a good sign if they can’t find out why as typically it means baby is fine.

@Lauren thank you, this is reassuring 🙏🏻

Yes I had bleeding during my first trimester and was told it was for no reason. I carried full term, went into spontaneous labour and delivered my son vaginally with no intervention. I actually had bleeding during the early stages of labour that they were monitoring but nothing came of that in the end!

I bled heavily after my 12 week scan, went to hospital and they said LO was fine and healthy; further on there was a lot more water than usual but still was a healthy LO with a natural labour too.

I was bleeding in my second pregnancy between week 8-12. I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks where they saw a subchorionic hematoma which was gone at my 14 week scan. I think bleeding can be normal but definitely get it checked out.

Yes I was bleeding Friday at 30 weeks, went to hospital said it was my cervix but no reason for it. Placenta not blocking birth canal and baby was all fine. Guess I’m just worried now in case happens again or the placenta moves and starts to block the birth canal?

Usually bleeding is some sort of subchorionic hematoma and a lot of women go on to have healthy pregnancies and births

Not the same as I knew I would have another c section, but I just had my third baby last May, and I bled a few times throughout that pregnancy but I did have a low lying placenta! So I was told that was the reason, it moved up itself x

@Alisha I have one too x

How far along are you? I had a few scans to check the progress of mine and to make sure it hadn’t attached to previous section scar tissue inside, and by 27/28 weeks it had moved well away, however from the start I knew we would be having another CS, as I did with my middle child, as my first (who was natural birth) gave me the worst tear, he was big for my frame, I think that was why, but just so it didn’t happen again I then had the 2 CS x

@Alisha 31 weeks on Friday they said it’s 22mm away now from the birth canal and has to be 20mm or less to be a risk so they are happy it’s all ok. X

That’s great! Xx

@Alisha yeah hopefully! Still worried it’ll move back though or I’ll start bleeding again 😢 xx

I can’t remember bleeding that late, so hopefully you won’t! But as long as baby is okay that’s the main thing, it’s hard not too worry, I don’t think it’ll move back down I think as baby and you get bigger it usually moves towards as there’s no room haha xx
