How long did it take you mummas to heal from birth after having stitches?

TMI sorry- I’m really struggling with a swollen perineum, while all other swelling is going down I feel like I’m just constantly suffering and struggle to sit, walk etc How long did it take you mumma’s to heal? I really want to see the light at the end of the tunnel 😂

It took me around 2 months but I naturally tore & had to have an episiotomy because of forceps

Took 3 weeks for the bleeding to stop and about 5 weeks to feel healed from the stitches. My tailbone was wrecked so it took several months for that to heal

It took me 3 weeks to be able to sit without pain. I had to get a donut cushion to sit on lol I stopped bleeding around 5 weeks. I had a natural 2nd degree tear.

after 3 weeks i was almost 100% pain free! i know it sucks but you’ll get there

Can't remember the exact time (my son's now 2 so everything seems blurry) but it took aggggees to feel normal again! A good month or possibly more, I had an episiotomy for forceps. My best advice is stay on top of pain killers for as long as you need! Take time to air out the stitches. Listen to your body! I did way too much to soon and wish I just rested more. It just takes time ❤️

About 5 to 6 weeks to feel normal again. I had an infection though and my stitches came open way before they should have.

Had 2nd degree tear by 2 weeks it wasn’t as bad but I’ll say 3 weeks, I’m 5weeks pp and I think it’s fully healed

Had a natural 2nd degree tear and I was in pain at least 5 weeks

Not that long tbh. I was definitely healed by 6 weeks

I think it’ll depend on the degree of tear. It took about 2/3 weeks for the majority of my discomfort to ease, but about a month to heal properly. It’s worth knowing that if you needed internal stitches, in addition to the surface level stitches (usually for 3rd degree+ tears), they are different materials and take up to 6 months to dissolve. So you may still feel lumps/bumps etc under the skin while they dissolve. I was very surprised to find that out, but sure enough they did eventually dissolve! Hang in there, it does get better! X

A bit different but I had a 2nd degree tear UPWARDS and received no stitches, it took months to become “healed”.. It healed in 2 seperate parts. RIP to my vagina. The most annoying part is, at my 2nd doctor appointment (different dr to the first) she said a couple of stitches could of been placed at my first appointment to make it heal together Her advice now is… wait until I’m finish having kids, then do reconstructive surgery :(
