Post c section / driving

How long did / will everyone wait to drive post c section? I know the guidance is 6 weeks but just wondering if that’s just generic. I’m currently 2 weeks PP and I do feel ready to physically drive it’s just the lifting of the car seat. X

I questioned this with the midwife too, she said it’s not that you don’t feel able, it’s that the muscles you’ll use to emergency stop will take 6 weeks to heal and if needed to emergency stop, can hinder your internal healing as it uses all the abdominal muscles to stop if needed. If that makes any sense xx

I waited about 5 weeks with my last section. Will probably go about the same, maybe slightly sooner depending on recovery.

I waited the six weeks as was told that if you haven’t been cleared by a doctor to drive this can negatively impact your car insurance and you won’t be insured to drive xx

I waited 2 weeks I did check with my midwife and she said aslong as I feel ok physically x

i drove at 4 weeks x

I was driving after 2 weeks, spoke with my midwife and health visitor and was suprised how well i was doing, and said it was okay if i felt okay and if my insurance covered me. I didnt go far, just to the shops down the road and to my familys house x

I waited 3 after checking with my insurance and dvla but they both didn’t have any rules xx

Guidance post c section for me was 6-8 weeks… I fully intend on milking the crap out of “passenger princess” for the full 8 weeks 😂
