What do I do?

So I was in the process of thawing some ground beef in cold water. My boyfriend comes thru and decides to add soap, water and his dirty dish from last night that had chicken pot pie. This guy is yelling at me because I won’t eat the meat. Am I wrong? Google says it’s a safety risk? I just don’t feel comfortable eating it at this point. He said he will eat it and put it in the freezer. I’m not sure why he was so upset it was his fault this happened in the first place. What do?

if it was in a sealed package i don’t see the issue with eating it, i’d be annoyed too though

Was it just…floating in there, raw-dog?🤢 like meat TOUCHING the water? If so, hell no- but I doubt it! So if it’s in the package, there’s really no issue. I’d rinse the whole unopened package in scalding hot water and carry on 🤷‍♀️ That package has rolled around on the floor of a truck, of a dirty grocery store, been in the shopping cart, on the nasty rubber conveyor belt… I wouldn’t worry about soapy water

I think it’s hilarious that he saw the meat in the sink and didn’t care at all and did some dishes. That is sooooo weird!

Was it in a packet? If it was then it's fine. If it's not then it will still be fine but will taste gross
