Kaiser L&D Question

Is it possible to ask L&D to say no to visitors for triage/labor room? I just want my husband to be there and no one else. We went for a fluid check up today and my mother in law went in with me. The nurse did not say anything. And now I am worried that the same might happen when the delivery is supposed to happen. I overthink, but i want L&D to be the bad guys as I am unable to tell my mil No.

Yes you just have to tell them when you get there that you want no visitors and ask to set up a password on your room. So if people try and visit they have to have a password to be allowed on the unit

But she was right by my side when we went inside since my husband was parking.

Absolutely. They allowed 2 support people in my room, so if they don't have any reason to question it they won't say anything. Nurses will totally have your back if you ask though!

Just tell her you have to pee and go find a nurse and let them know and usually the nurse will come up with a reason as to why they can’t be in there

Yes and you can name it very clear that you doing want anyone else in the room with you other than your significant other

Great job for your husband. He can break away while you’re being monitored and tell the nurses no visitors when you’re in labor.
