@Katya 🥲 I just miss sleeping next to my husband. If I can get my baby off me for half the night I’d take it right now.
I just night-weaned at 21 months. I wish I had done it sooner! Next time I’ll aim to do it around 12/13 months if my baby is another boobie monster. Some babies grow out of it around a year, my girl was never going to self wean. I was a zombie most days though lack of sleep.
@Lorna how did you do it? I’m looking at night weaning now at 18 months and I’m so worried about him screaming and crying all night…
@Amanda we did the normal bedtime routine, but when it came to her asking for boob, I just said “all gone” as she knows what that phrase means. She was extremely upset and angry the first night. She took an hour to fall asleep and then only slept 4 hours that night. The next night she was upset for about 45 minutes, then woke up twice upset in the night, for about 10-15 min each time. After that she didn’t get upset. She takes about half an hour to fall asleep now. We just get in bed together after reading some books and she just snuggles down and falls asleep. I thought we’d have lots and lots of rough nights like that first one.
I'm planning to night wean at around 19 months, she's 14 months now. She still nurses several times a night but doesn't stay latched on all nightblike she used to, so it's doable.
