Hi mama, I'm also in the same boat as you while grieving and being pregnant. But if you want to be friends and talk, I'm always down for a conversation just to be there for others

Hi julia! I’m currently on lexapro myself. My therapist and doctors started me on 5mg for the first 3 days then increased to now 10mgs. I have been on them for now two weeks. i can say that since being on it, in the beginning it doesn’t really affect you. Until now the second week i’m on it. I have more energy, i’m not as sad as i was and i can carry out my day. The con part of it is that i have less of an appetite( which doesn’t really happen to everyone) , headaches sometimes and numbness to feelings. However after speaking to my therapist about my symptoms she did recommended that you continue to take them and the symptoms do reside on their own. I’m totally with you when it comes to lexapro. I had lost my son in february and been going through hard postpartum and depression. So i’m on the journey of finding myself again.

@Nay thank you for replying and i’m so incredibly sorry for you loss. it’s been a struggle for me, i love my son but feel so disconnected. i wish taking pills was easy, im nervous about the side affects.

@Julia Thank you for your condolences. Yes taking pills are hard. I was scared to take them myself cause i didn’t want to just forget about what happened to my child. I wanted to have some feelings. Honestly i took me to speak with a therapist to really understand more about it. I also looked on tiktok at other people who take it as well to see what there reaction is. But see if you can speak with a therapist to really.

@Julia Message me anytime! I’m here with ya, your not alone in this journey

Hey mama! PPD/PPA/PPR mama here 👋🏼 Medication helped me a lot ☺️ I’m currently on Escitalopram (Lexapro/Cipralex) and it has helped immensely. I’ve also just started therapy with a psychotherapist as of today. There is no shame in needing extra help to be the best version of yourself not only for your kiddo but also and mainly YOU 🩷 you deserve to be happy and enjoy your day etc. sending positive thoughts 🤗

thank you so much for replying, i am so nervous to take it. i just get worried about side affects ): im a sahm and i dont want it to affect the way i take care of my son

Hey Julia! I started in Prozac a couple of months ago due to anxiety and the blues, and like you, I was TERRIFIED of taking medication. but I will say it has definitely been a game changer for me. Withing 3 weeks, I noticed that I had been feeling better and was not so in my head as before. It has helped me so much, and I told my doctor that I wish I started sooner! Lol The only side effects I had was loss of appetite, but then i regained it after a few weeks. Other than that, no side affects. Everyone IS different. Besides, if you don't like it, you can wean off it. I know the recommendation is to be on it for at least 2 months to see its full effects - this is all with Prozac, but i believe it's not too different than Lexapro. Hope this helps. Xx

Feel free to contacted me xx
