C section date
Hi, so I have been scheduled for a 37 week C-section. I seem to be running into problems as I have a toddler and can only get childcare cover from my 38 week. I have been stable with the pregnancy so far even though I had been bleeding earlier. I’ll just like a bit of extension. I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how I can ask the hospital team as I have tried to do it over the phone but no luck.

If you’ve been scheduled for a 37 week section they clearly want baby out safely asap. I had a section at 37 weeks as I got ICP right at the end (otherwise low risk easy pregnancy) and the risk of nasty stuff increases at the week 38 mark. Maybe they don’t have any other slots available in the next 2 week window. They want to get you before labour may naturally start but week 37 is usually only for babies/mothers with increased risk. I do get it though, I had a nightmare getting help with my toddlers daycare and got my date 2 days beforehand as everything was happening fast. You can ask them but there’s probably a very good reason why they want baby out early xx
