What kind of ground beef are you using( like fat content)? And how much like lbs are you cooking at a time?
I never use foil
@Ariana❤️ l73/27f. usually i’ll do 2 lbs minimum bc it’s one of my go to when i don’t wanna have to cook the next day BUT because i can never get it right we always just don’t have the main part of the meal 😅
Love this meatfree meatloaf recipe. I always double the recipe and freeze the extra one https://minimalistbaker.com/vegan-lentil-nut-meatloaf/
@Lexie ya i guess a meat thermometer would probably help huh 😅. i just notice that it starts getting brown on the edges and then i take it out so i dont burn it but that’s primarily why i use the foil so
i love my thermometer, especially for pork and chicken. I’m terrified to accidentally give myself (or someone else) salmonella or something 😂 i actually do not cover my meatloaf! idk if that will help or not, but maybe you could try it!
If you’re adding ketchup to the meat itself it’s going to *look* raw. But it’s not actually raw. You’re definitely cooking it long enough that I can guarantee it isn’t raw.
Meat thermometers are amazing I use one every time I make chicken because I’m paranoid but really theyre great
Cook it in a 9x13 inch pan or dish. It won't be as thick, or pretty, but is should cook in about an hour. If you're doing it in a loaf pan, you'll probably have to cook it at for about 1.5 hours, maybe more.
I use 1 lb and it’s done by an hour in the oven. Maybe you can make two separate loaves, if they’re smaller, they’ll cook faster.
Maybe try 90% lean meat
I use a meatloaf mixture. It usually takes an hour and 15 minutes to cook fully. I temp it in the center after an hour and then put it back in of its not ready.
what type of pan are you using?
@Marie any of em. i prefer using cupcake pans bc they cook easier and then they’re cute lil bite size cakes but they burn easier and then my partner won’t eat them lol. so sometimes ill use a loaf pan other times a flat pan (9/13 - 8/8) but i swear i can never get it right. the last time i made a meatloaf i did it in a 9/13 and forgot about it for 5hours 😅. definitely wasn’t raw but DEFINITELY wasn’t edible either
