Cradle cap

What is everyone doing to treat cradle cap?? It’s still a pretty mild case we are dealing with as of right now, so I’d like to try more natural and gentle approaches first. That being said though, I’d love to hear whatever worked for any other mamas no matter what it may be!!

Breast milk !

I rub coconut oil in my babies hair and give her a little scalp massage that loosens the scales then I use the baby comb I got from the hospital to get them off her head after they’re loose 🙂

My baby had pretty bad cradle cap. He’s lost a ton of hair from it. I bathed him Tuesday evening and rubbed breast milk into his hair and left it, didn’t rinse it out. He doesn’t get a bath every night because his skin is so dry so he hasn’t had a bath since then. Usually by now, his hair would be slicked down from the oily scales and flakes but it’s still light and fluffy and he has hardly any scales or flakes. The patches he had before are almost gone.

Coconut oil and a comb worked out for me , hair came out but thats just apart of the process

i second breastmilk. leave it in during bath time at the very least then rinse. but if you can, leave it as long as possible/let it dry on the scalp

I use baby oil in her hair. I leave it in for a few minutes to loosen it up and then comb it out then shampoo her hair. A lot of her cradle cap is gone now but yeah it will tend to go away on his own as it's very common.

Breast milk definitely helps, but for something to actually wash their hair with I’d highly recommend the Tubby Todd brand cradle cap product

we’ve used tubby todd (from their website NOT amazon, amazon overprices it!) and it has worked WONDERS for her cradle cap and baby acne, we started using it when she was about to weeks old, and now even at 4 months it works AMAZINGLY

Mustela cradle cap foam shampoo!!!! It was gone in a couple washes without having to really work it out and irritate babies scalp.

I used Tubby Todd to wash his hair and it worked with just two washes during two different times. I also made a breast milk balm with coconut oil and use that as a styling moisturizer oil and moisturizer.
