Travel pram

I have a 6 month old and we have planned 2 trips overseas for this year. The first is to Denmark then to the Canaries. I want to buy a travel pram that will cope with all terrains and last! I am not fussed about a cabin approved one, although would this be better? Is it ok with airlines to take this or must you check first! Do you have to check in the pram or can you use in airport and give at the gate? Finally do people take car seats when they go away? Thanks in advance xx

Generally you can take one baby item (pram, car seat etc) without checking. You can give the pram at the steps to the plane with most companies then get it back from bulky luggage at the other end If you are planning on using a car whilst away I would personally take one with you. Unlikely they would have suitable ones with a hire car. Not sure if you've used or thought about one but a baby carrier is a life saver through the airport and abroad in my experience.

I have an 8 month old and we have been abroad 3 times now and the best purchase I made was our travel pram… Joolz Aer +. It fully reclines, has a big sun canopy and is cabin approved! I never understood the point of cabin approved since you can leave the pram at the gate and the crew check it in… Except on our last trip to the canaries. Most airlines allow you to take 2 items either a pram, travel cot or car seat free of charge. However, Jet2 said the 2 items had to be 10kg together (the car seat and travel pram combined would have been more) and so it was amazing to have the pram cabin approved so I took that instead of a 10kg cabin suitcase on board! Enjoy!!

I second Alicia’s recommendation of the Joolz Aer +

Yoyo2 classes as cabin luggage or you can take to the plane entrance and hand over. I take a car seat just to be sure.

Thanks for the advice! I think I am overthinking things but I'm worried about travelling getting it wrong
