Why does my cat keep “crying”? 😭

She never used to do this. She will walk around and just meow meow meow over and over again in this loud, high-pitched, soul-penetrating cry-meow. I love my cat but this is SO annoying to me right now, especially when she does it as I’m settling into bed and about to fall asleep. It happens everyday multiple times a day. I also have two toddlers and a newborn right now so I cannot deal with anymore noise stimulation. And yes she has food and water on both levels of the house, clean litter boxes, etc. Anyone have any idea?

My cat does it non stop, I think she’s just a little dumb tbh 😂 She’s 15 and has always done it. She’ll just walk and do this howling meow. Or she’ll do it while sneaking around. About 40% time she’s about to throw up, or has already thrown up and is telling on herself I think some are just more vocal than others 😅

So if it’s a distressed meow it could mean theyre sick or something is wrong. I had a cat that did a distressed meow at 12 am for a little while because she had a UTI. I’ve also had cats who yell for attention or yell when they’ve caught something (like a toy or a lizard) they want to show off. If you can’t figure out the reason, it might be best to take the cat to the vet to make sure it’s not a health issue.
