I'm terrified to book, and think what if she gets ill what do I do then! Thank you for the love and support x
Aww, it's so normal. I don't live in England anymore but live in a country where I don't speak the language, and honestly, Google Translate is so good. If you go all-inclusive, they usually have a medical centre on the resort or nearby, and Spanish people usually speak English, especially if you go somewhere popular. I know it's stressful, but I think getting away with your little girl will be so amazing for you 💛 xx
If she gets ill you'd do the same as here and look after her. A baby carrier would probably help.
I'm unsure whether just a baby carrier would be better or would I take a pram for shade?
At that age I'd probably take both. Carrier is brilliant for the airport/travel. Pram is helpful for naps.
Haven’t done it alone yet, but would really recommend a travel high chair. We went to Italy with our then 10 month old and chased him across a lot of restaurant floors because he just would not stay in high chairs without being strapped in and lots of restaurants didn’t have chairs with working straps 🙈 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vine-Portable-Adjustable-Washable-Convenient/dp/B01HER8KEY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=1IQCFXTJASEG6&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.NJTWIh1vOov8o26LUHwYhNF_O3FDPF94vMFLxJmgUP1LGRGXyRfxhDGQ6FuaKn_3omcFgMAtnHHXVZdhYurQyZQkTjeXs35yue5CbyvE6KIl3Rl_RQQlLs5wHbCt6xByFbndTxabAAtnfhBTKWGW7k4Li9L-cuHRbTmEe5BjoQYMV0mIWKemjuBWj53mwP0hAb9ovHJDqZDGDkjIymk9RA.smRfkzMUpzn2-LY_ghHExmfZE5k34uksTxsLym3Bdts&dib_tag=se&keywords=travel%2Bhighchair%2Bfor%2Bbabies&qid=1744405586&sprefix=travel%2Bhighch%2Caps%2C227&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1&th=1
Im taking my 14 month old to Spain alone next week. I'm worried about the flight now he can't sit still, and anxious that we may get delayed and it'll be a nightmare. But in reality he won't care it's an adventure to him and he will still have everything he wants. I cant wait to be away with him watching him explore now he's more aware of his surroundings as he's not been away for a few months. Youve got this. You will regret not going much more than going. Feel free to message me if you want to talk about it xx
@Zoe are you doing the flight by yourself? Can I ask what you'll be taking/what type of holiday you are adventuring on? I'm trying to figure out what to take too. I'd like to minimise how much I take as it will just be me nagivating everything.
@Eva this is great I've been looking for something for even visiting family you are right such a nightmare! Thank you. Any other must haves?
Yes flying alone. Am trying to not take too much as getting off the plane I won't have a buggy so will be baby carrier and hes heavy these days ha ha. I'll take a suitcase to check in. And pushchair to the gate although won't get that back until baggage at the other end. And then just a backpack which will be full of snacks and toys. I've got him some new toys I've now shown him yet so they're new and exciting for the plane. We fly at 5am so he's going to be miserable all the waking up involved as is and come back at 9pm so that won't won't be so bad he will likely jjust sleep. I've flown with him a fair few times now , although not alone, and it's absolutely fine. I am mostly worried now he doesn't sit still how hard it will be to keep him on my lap.
Ive made sure everything I'm taking is manageable in my arms so him on my front and backpack on my back as I will have suitcase and pushchair once through baggage so less is more. Our babes don't need much. Clean clothes. Some food and toys and mum. It's all an adventure and learning for them isn't it xx
I've not personally been on a holiday on my own, but I did do a flight. Take toys and some food (I took breadsticks and cucumber). Don't worry about anything, and honestly, the thought was a lot worse than actually doing it! Also, I want to say I'm so sorry you think anyone will judge you for being a single mum. You're doing absolutely amazing. Good luck, and I hope you have the best holiday with your little one 💛
