Formula amount per day

So I've finally managed to get my EBF baby to accept formula in a bottle. I've done this so my partner can share the bedtime routine and so I can have a break now and again, I intend to continue bf until atleast 6 months (he's 20 weeks). BUT if I do decide to add more formula feeds, how many oz roughly should I be giving and how far apart? Currently he's happily draining 4oz and earlier seemed to want more, I'm currently bf him back to sleep less than 2 hours later so wondering whether to try 5oz tomorrow? Thanks for any advice! This is my third baby but first time giving formula before establishing solids so I'm in a grey area 😅

Can't comment as far as the breastfeeding part but my son is 19 weeks and drinks 6oz formula bottles per feed. My best advice is if he seems to want more then up it by an Oz, if he's still draining them then up it again but sometimes an ounce or two will get wasted because they just aren't as hungry for it!

I'll give 5oz a go tomorrow, he is a chunky boy born on 75th and jumped up to 91st so wouldn't surprise me if he wants more!

I'm exactly the same still figuring it out she's EBF but has been having a formula bottle at night she has one every 3-4 hours and i make a 5 oz bottle but shes only been drinking 4oz so far. Weirdly with expressed milk she polishes off 6 oz which is really confusing. If he's drinking the full 4 oz and seems to want more maybe try 5 and see how you get on x

If he is draining the bottle I would definitely offer 6oz and go from there. My formula fed baby is 5 months old & I offer 6oz during the day and then a 7oz at night. X

@Tasha did your babg adjust to the change well? I've been a bit cautious about giving too much and upsetting his tummy & poos, don't know if that's even a common thing 🙈

@Danielle thankyou I will up his oz today!
