Hi mine was exactly the same midwifeās also said was healing very well but I went to see my gp for a second opinion and they took a swab and found it was an infection they prescribed me some antibiotics all was healed within the week of antibiotics and looking great ever since xx
Iām 4 weeks pp, 1 month tomorrow (second section) and Iām on my second round of antibiotics for an infection. That honestly looks nothing to worry about and it is healing nicely. Itās not protruding to an extent to be concerned about. Just keep an eye out for redness and weeping in the mean time āŗļø
Hey! Honestly same thing happened with mine and I freaked out so much and went back to hosp and spent hours and hours waiting around just to be told it was normal š« I was even having small bits of blood. Long story short I learnt that itās very common as long as itās only the first layer of skin. For reassurance, mines all completely healed now with no intervention needed. Just keep keeping it clean and dry, air it as much as you can. This is obvs just my personal experience and I would say if youāre very worried to contact the hospital or GP. But give yourself time to heal š¤
I'm 6 weeks PP I've had my incision open 7 times ( 2 big the rest small ) I've had 3 Swabs done and they all came back negative for infections. I had 2 different antibiotics, one i was allergic to the other was fine. They did nothing. If you're concerned go up to MAU or contact your GP although MAU are better as they're trained in the area where as your GP isn't. In the mean time clean with water in the shower by letting it run over it. Dab dry or dry with a hair dryer, cover with a gauze or a pad to keep it dry All this is advice I was given x
Until you get an appointment, try to keep it dry and not sweaty! X
Hey mine looked a bit like this and midwife recommended sudocrem which cleared it up x
Thank you so much ladies really appreciate everything you have shared š«¶
It doesnāt look like itās opened but you donāt know whatās going on underneath so definitely go and get seen. I had the tiniest popped stitch, went in straight away, was fobbed off a little and told it was nothing but I persisted. Put on oral antibiotics they did nothing. I kept going back and back and begged for bloods the following week. I had a temp, serious pain across my abdomen, rigours and profuse sweating/ chittering/ goosebumps in the end. On the outside the opening had not changed but on the inside Iād developed an abscess and ended up with sepsis, taken back to theatre and they had to cut away layers of tissue and skin, remove my scar and join everything back up. I was critically ill in high dependency. Donāt take ANY chances and donāt let them fob you off. If you think something isnāt right get on top of it x I hope itās superficial and nothing to worry about but go and make sure. My swab also came back normal so just know your body and if itās not right push to be seen
Oh @Megan š„ŗ bless you!! I hope youāre doing better now? What a scary time!! Itās awful and very frustrating that we have to push to much to be heardš£

Iām 10 weeks pp and Iāve had 3 holes open up and Iām gradually getting my last one to close. Mine just seem to be a massive hole in my stomach at first so I donāt know about it being a tiny small opening but your best bet is to make an appointment with your nurse practitioner in the doctors and they can actually do wound care with you and dress you if needed etc x
