Planned c section at the JR
Hi - recently agreed for an elective c section with the JR at the end of the month. I had an emergency c section with my first 17 months ago and my partner wasn’t allowed to stay with me after 8pm 🥲 so my recovery for the first couple of days was really rough but glad to have made it through 💪🏾
I will need to double check this but thought I’d ask here - I’ve been told by my midwife that the JR are allowing partners/birthing partners to stay over after the surgery to help the mothers? She said they give them a reclining chair once we are moved from the observation area to the ward so they can stay with us… can anyone shed some light on this?

I've got mine next week so I can let you know! Midwives have said there are now family bays where partners can stay though, so I'm hopeful x

Hey! I had my first by elective c section in August last year and sadly my husband was not allowed to stay. I’d be surprised if they had changed this since then but I can’t vouch for that. My baby was born at 17.45 so by the time we were in recovery it was about 18.45. They let him stay until 10pm that evening but then had to leave. The next evening he was asked to leave by 8pm.
