I open up the sun roof while driving and that seems to work so far. Surprisingly, pacifiers work for us too!
It's so stressful! We pretty much only travel during nap time. But I've found singing helps a little. A mirror for him to look at. And I put all the noisy toys in the front seat with me and press the buttons as we drive.
It's a similar situation for us. Something that works for us is singing to him and pacifiers, which is surprising because he doesn't normally take the pacifier.
My son has always hated the car seat but I recently got him a car seat toy and that helps. We try to keep our trips short and when it’s a long trip either me or his dad sitting the back with him
We bought a little squishy hanging night light, it keeps him distracted especially a night he hates the dark. Also any teether or crinkly noise toys.
I had to switch my car seat and he calmed down. My baby started to hate car rides in his infant car seat and cried the whole ride till we switched. Now he sleeps or plays with toys
I upgraded to a bigger car seat and play “the happy song” on Spotify abd it has made a huge differnece
@Christina obviously not trying to tell you what to do, but I’d be cautious about the mirror. There have been cases where the reflection from the sun hitting the mirror has made car seats burn.
@Allana Nikpouri thanks for the info! I have a 9 year old who sits back there with him too so she normally trades him stuff every few mins once he gets bored of something and I have tinted windows. But thanks for caring 😊
Play music in the car or talk to your child throughout the car ride
