I think it depends on your baby. My first could do it himself where as with my second, I find that if I don’t do it, it bothers him later or he’s more likely to be sick
I’ve stopped burping now as every time I tried he would scream and not finish the rest of the bottle for some reason😅that and the fact I would try for ages and only get the tiniest of burps out of him, it just seemed to bother him more than anything else but he’s completely fine since I stopped
I just have to keep my girl upright for a minute or two after a bottle and she'll do a couple of big burps
One of my twins definitly still needs help but the other generally shifts it on his own
i leave it, my boy seems to burp on his own now. l do pat his back sometimes out of habit though haha
We’re still burping, she’s gets awful trapped wind otherwise. She will sometimes bring it up herself but most of the time she needs help
I give a quick pat if he seems fussy after / during a feed, which normally results in a huge burp. He normally manages to get them out himself these days now he is just about sitting.
Thanks girls xx
My son has started to feed himself he’s just turnt 6 months and won’t drink the bottle if I’m holding it so I just give him the bottle in his bouncer when he’s finished I wait about 15 minutes then lay him on the floor and he rolls and burps himself or I lay him on his tummy and he burps only way it’ll come up
