Nappy size?

How do I find out what size is suitable for my baby? She is almost 3 weeks old. We have both size 0 and size 1. Size 0 seems to be a good fit but I noticed some slight red marks around her thighs and I’m not sure if that means it’s too tight? But I can still fit 2 fingers around each side of the nappy which would suggest it’s not too tight?? Size 1 seems to be huge. I’m not sure if it’s better to use the bigger nappies or continue with size 0. Also not sure if sleep deprivation is making this much more complicated than it needs to be as I feel so confused 😭

Following as I have the same situation

I say go by weight and leaks, we just moved to size 2 at 6 weeks, size 1 was probably also okay as he fits the category for weight on both 1 and 2 but he started filling wet size 1s quicker so we made change. Trust your gut! We never even did size 0, he was a 50th percentile baby at birth

Think the slight redness is just from wearing a nappy. I use the biggest size we can get away with. Started size 1 for a couple of weeks then been 2 since. Our baby is small and they're spot on. Aldi though. Pampers he'd still be size 1.

@Madeleine thanks! She doesn’t leak in either size. Weight wise size 1 would be best but from what I can see size 0 still fits

@Leanne ok that makes sense for the redness. Its the pampers size 1 we’re using but I did hear aldi comes up smaller so perhaps might be the middle ground to try

My little one is 3 weeks old also, we are using Aldi size 1. We tried Pampers, Lidl and Aldi nappies, he seemed to leak through more often in Pampers and Lidl, and the Pampers seemed big but we couldn't find size 0 Pampers locally. Aldi was the best fit, maybe it is true they come up a bit smaller than the others. My husband said this but I didn't think much of it, as the weight range of 2-5kg was the same for all size 1 nappies. Hope that helps! :)

@Salma thank you, that’s helpful to know!
