IUD

I got the IUD placed on 2 years ago and I notice that my hormones and body change drastically. I had a baby in 2021 and I was able to lose all baby fat . But after gotten the IUD I’ve gained almost 30 lbs and I’ve been so sad . It took me so long to get used to the IUD . I cramp almost all month after my period I spot for like 3 days. I’m SCARED to take it out bc I dnt wanna get pregnant . Also this is my first time being on birth control. I think this time I’m just going to brave and show up to the appt.. also I notice that I gained weight just in my belly so I do look pregnant and I feel like I dnt crave sex like before . I would like to mention that I’ve gotten In different diets and nothing i hardly eat out I cook home 90% of the time. Is anyone is the same boat?

Same here tho I'm on the progesterone only pill 🙈

I haven’t been on birth control in so many years. But because of the reasons that you’ve stated, I got off of it. I started at 12 and was off by 16. I’m in my 30s now and refuse to take birth control because of the side effects. They’re awful.

@𝐾𝑎𝑦🇨🇦🥀 Hi! I had a question. I recently just stopped taking my bc and was wondering, how long did it take for the bc to be completely out of your system and the side effects to stop? I was taking the mini progesterone only pill.

@Jessica hey! I think I was a year or two after I stopped. Some pills can take up to 10 years to take full effect to not be in your system. If you have any concerns, I would suggest talking to your doctor. Just on the stance that every body is going to be different and take a different amount of time to get out of your system.

@𝐾𝑎𝑦🇨🇦🥀 wow I didn’t know it could take so long . I definitely going to schedule an appt to have it remove bc I can’t keep up anymore . I feel like I’m harming but body . Also I notice that I lose patience so quick when before I was very patient and attentive to my baby .. I’ve never eating so bad to gain so much weight..

I didn’t know either until recently. And I’m not currently taking anything. It’s been well over 15 years since I’ve been on BC.

@𝐾𝑎𝑦🇨🇦🥀 thanks for the info! I have my yearly check up coming up so I'll talk to the Dr then 😊 I'm just ready to not deal with the side effects anymore and be myself again!

@Jessica absolutely! I like to share the knowledge I have with others that I’ve learned over the years. Even if I’m not taking anything myself.

@Jessica hello, may I asked what side effects have you been experiencing?

It basically felt like i always had morning sickness. Fatigue, major headaches, horrible bowel movements, bloating, severe nausea, moodiness.. uncontrollable moodiness. I went to a women's retreat and found out it was the bc I was taking. I thought it was because I was getting older and had 4 littles and my body was just changing 🙃 😫

@Jessica oh my god !thats exactly how i feel! I was never like this i get cramps from one side of my belly all the way to my toe .. also TMI but when I got I’d would feel like something was poking my behind lol like I couldn’t sit down comfortable. I even went to get it checked bc I thought it had moved lol. Bloating and horrible bowels movements are for sure a daily thing
