If a blood test said you were having a boy and the ultrasound said girl which one would you believe?

To my understanding, If blood test says boy that means it detected a Y chromosome which is near impossible to be false UNLESS you had another baby boy previously

If you did the sneak peek definitely not lol but if it was the one doctors did then yes

Blood test if it was from the doctors

Same as Lauren said sneak peak was wrong for me.

I only asked the ? Bc I saw a video saying the same thing

There's a few factors. When was the blood test done? I know SneakPeek claims it can do it as early as 6 weeks, but sometimes you can get false girl results from that early. I wouldn't really trust a blood test until 10+ weeks along. Also, if you did it at home, there's risk of male contamination which can lead to a false boy result. Even male pets can cause this because they're just looking for a Y chromosome, not what the DNA is from 😅!! Ultrasound can also be done too early. I wouldn't 100% trust an ultrasound either until 18+ weeks. Yes, they can see around 14 or 15 weeks, but it might not be super clear. All in all, though, I would trust a lab drawn blood test more than anything else I think.

Definitely blood.

Most definitely blood

My blood test said boy & I had a girl !

I'd say the blood test is more accurate as the ultrasound is usually just an interpretation

Maybe could be a mixup with the blood test. This just happened to my friend. She was told it was a boy from the blood test but then later found out the lab gave her the wrong results and she’s having a girl

My blood test said girl. Ultrasound (at 21weeks) said boy. Then we paid extra for a 3D ultrasound so we could see better for ourselves. Shes a girl.

@KayLee If any male DNA some how got in there it could also be wrong. If a hair from a male doctor or a male cat hair got in there even.

That depends on the blood test if you did NIPT. That is very accurate. If you did sneak peek at home or one of those that you order online those can be wrong. Especially if the area where you did the test was contaminated with male dna like a spouse or child.

Blood test you get results sooner than your 20 week ultrasound

Unless you’ve had a boy prior to this pregnancy I’d believe the blood work. Also depends if you did something like sneak peek or if it was Dr ordered blood test.

I suppose bloods can be wrong as it's not as simple as XX or XY sometimes. Baby could have XXY chromosomes and have developed female genitalia? They might only look for the presence of an X or Y rather than full mapping? Also, the ultrasound could have been misread which is why they usually say they THINK and can't be considered fully accurate. Could you book another scan to get another opinion?

Sneak peak tests I would never rely on. I personally trust ultrasounds more. I got the blood work from my dr snd ultrasounds and both said girl snd i was still scared shed come out a boy lol
