My little girl was the same when she was a newborn, now she absolutely loves it and will smile/laugh the whole time! I just think babies in general aren’t a fan when they are so young, it’s still new for them too! I know it’s hard, I felt exactly the same and never thought she would get out of it but I think with age they do! X
I think this is normal. It’s cold perhaps for him while being wiped and that can be shocking. Trying singing song to him and give him a good cuddle afterwards
Same thing here, even wipes are warm, we crying so hard, till we finish changing and then he sucking my breast like it's the last day of his life 😅🤦🏻♀️
I started putting socks under her baby grows! Worked a treat, She still cries now especially when we’re out on the baby changing tables she hates them! But she’s colic so could be trapped wind aswell:) x
i heard someone keeping a towel or muslin on the change mat when you put baby down, they can get really cold x
Really common and it does pass! Try changing on a muslin so the surface isn't as cold x
We had to add distractions at the mat - a black and white cuddly and a helium balloon! - and it subsided eventually x
Yes, babies cant really do anything but cry. Its probably disturbing someone is all up in his business but he doesnt have the words to tell you to leave him alone but also doesnt understand he needs to be cleaned 😂
@Hannah I do that. I have a lot of mini towels, so he didn't get too cold
My baby was like that until about 5/6 weeks when he suddenly didn’t mind them.
Mine screamed still she’s she hates the feeling of wet wipes even got a wipes warmer did help but no practical x
Ours was the same! It used to make me cry! We put a fun toy for her to look at and do it with warm water and cotton wool and a towel underneath so it's warm. At about 6/8 weeks she started enjoying nappy changes and now smiles through them :)
@Amanta it's giving me a hope lol
Very normal. They’ve been nice and warm and in a bag of fluid for 9 months and they are adjusting to the world now, not to make matters worse but my 18 month old still hates nappy changes🤣 it takes a lot to get him to be still

My little girl is 11 weeks and is still very much the same, the odd time she will be chilled but that’s few and far between, guess it depends what mood she’s in 😅
Mine has always done it we have to use something to distract her like a toy usually the black and white cards work
My son was like this as a newborn and again now at 11 months, I sing to him and also find laying him on one of my jumpers I’ve been wearing helps massively especially with night changes
we used a little cloud from amazon that lights up when you touch it, baby still loves it at 7 months. always have a diaper change toy.
My newborn was the same used to absolutely scream then one day he just stopped, now he smiles and laughs during these times x
We have black and white high contrast cards for her to look at, take frequent breaks to hold her feet warming them up, and use a hairdryer to dry her after wiping.. Makes it much easier
Try and play some calm song. Or white noise. It might help her to focus on that instead of the nappy change and being cold.
Totally normal he will grow out of it. He is just brand new and doesn’t understand what is going on yet. Just wait I have an 18 month old and I have to change the diaper while he stands poop and pee while he tries to run away or climb the couch with poop on the butt😂. I promise it all does get easier as time goes on.
@Paige I’m jealous if you can actually get your 18 month old boy to be still lol.
My son was the same for a bit at the beginning. It does get better. He’s 2 now and we are in a whole new stage. We’re in the middle of potty training.
@Elysha my son won’t stay still either. Lol
Mine has a little melt down everytime! Sometimes it helps to feed her first then change
@Elysha I give him the sudacrem. I don’t know why but he loves the tub🤣🤣🤣 that and my phone… the selfies I’ve got of him having his bum changed are hilarious 🤦🏻♀️
Yup. Normal unfortunately. Christ mine absolutely screamed the walls down every time until she was about 6 weeks and it started to improve. It's why I never changed after every feed and didn't change her at night. It was just too distressing.
My son was only about a week old here. It’s totally normal for babies to just cry. That’s what they do. I know it’s distressing but I promise they are ok and you will learn what cries mean what soon enough.

Then they look like this 18 months later. Crazy how fast it goes .
I saw other comment the same thing but this would happen with my baby until i invested in a wipe warmer and made everything so much better
My little one is the same, I just make sure he has his dummy (if you are using one) and if you have like a white noise monitor or even if you play a lullaby on your phone just to make the experience a bit calmer always helps.
