Osteopath

I have booked my 5 week old baby to see an osteopath. He’s struggling with reflux and is super tense. He had a tongue tie which was cut at 2 days old. Wondering for those who has used one, what their experiences were and if they saw a difference.

My 6 month had tongue tie twice cut at 5 days old and then at 3 months old. He had bad colic and reflux. We took him to osteopath at 2 months and it was the best decision ever. He has been on baby omeprazole since 2 months.

We had a posterior tongue tie cut at 8 weeks i think.. not much improvement.. then realised he had silent reflux .. he us on omeprazole which does help however in the evenings and night he was so bad with trapped wind .. we went now twice to an osteopath and she said my baby have jaw, chin, chest and diaphragm tighness .. i cant even see some improvement in terms of mood .. however he still not sleeping full night .. i think we are in regression aswell.. but he is alot more happier and passing wind alot more easier ..

I was just about to ask this on here. Please could you let me know how it goes? My little one is struggling with reflux and trapped wind and seems so tense all the time and fussy! I’ve been reading up on it and apparently it’s more likely if the birth was quick and intervention was needed to deliver. Just want my little one to be happy, just seems like he’s struggling all the time 🥺

I took my baby to an osteo at about 6 weeks and she was incredible! He was very gassy and uncomfortable, tense, cried alllllll the time classic 'colic'. She actually flagged a tongue tie that had been missed even though it was quite a significant one and she flagged a potential milk sensitivity for us - absolutely correct so we swapped to goat milk for a few months and then successfully weaned back onto cow milk formula. It was really good for us and our baby, she did some body work to help with his tension and gas and I would recommend it to anyone.

@Amy I will for sure! Yeah I think you’re right in terms of a quick birth it can be beneficial. My little boy was born by planned c-section but they had to use forceps to get him out as his head was pretty engaged due to going into early labour whilst waiting for my section. Plus the tongue tie he had has added to the tension in his body. It really is hard seeing our babies go through a hard time but you’re doing a great job! I’ll let you know how it goes!

@Chloe birth a lot for them, it's a trauma for everyone! Physically if nothing else, it's a big deal for teeny tiny bodies. I had an emergency c section at 9cm so my poor baby was heading one way and then taken out the other way bless him 😂 he had also been breech until 37 weeks so no wonder there was a lot going on. I really hope it helps definitely give us an update afterwards 🙂
