Am a week post c-section n it still hurts me to lie down and pick up my one year old , it’s not as bad now tho I get my dressing off today , it’s totally normal to still feel pain 3days in I only started to do stuff round the house yesterday, today am going out for the first time to get my little boy registered so I’ll see how I feel later on , definitely still keep on top of your medication and you will be fine 🥰🥰
I was the most tender on day 3 but have recovered quickly since then. Can you take ibuprofen aswell as paracetamol? I alternated every two hours so I was always covered. I’m now day 12, and only taking the odd painkiller if I feel I need it (came off taking them religiously around day 8).
@Bec ibruprofen made me feel super sick so I’ve laid off it! My head pounds too when I’m not lying down, think I’m having after effects of the spinal 🥲
When I had my c section last time I was sent home with liquid morphine for the first 5 days and it masked like 90% of the pain. Is it not standard to be given this after a section? It is major abdominal surgery after all
Day 3 I think was the hardest for me. It was my first full day home. I was exhausted from wake ups with the baby. Toddler wanted all the attention and I was also struggling with the pain and tenderness despite the painkillers. I had my csection Monday morning and started to find things easier on the friday and Saturday. Went on the first outing on Sunday however it wasn't me doing much, mainly sitting and I had to spend most of the day sitting at home when we returned otherwise I would have overdone it. I find that I can get up and about to do things every hour or two for around 5 to 10 minutes currently before I start to feel it and have to just sit down and stop. I would take ibuprofen as well if you can. I was given paracetamol and ibuprofen leaving the hospital and have found taking both to be helpful in aiding recovery/pain management. X
