Milkkk

We are still on many bottles a day of formula as my little one looks like is snacking food only and even if we gave him like pasta which he likes ..in 1h max he is screaming for milk..same for naps and bedtime..We tried cows milk but he is still having too much and cannot offer him 800 ml a cows milk a day as it may upset his stomach..We are still on Formula 1 , do i need to change it to follow up?

Have you tried to start the process of weaning him off formula to cows milk. What I done was for one week - 7 days I done 3oz of formula mixed with 3oz of cows milk (blue top) seen how they went with that and then I went down to 2oz of formula and 4oz of cows milk then carried on with only 2oz of formula until our last tub was done then went with full cows milk. I understand every baby is different but cows milk will give baby the fullness that they need between meals. My little one is now only offered a bottle of milk in the morning and at bed time with juice or water throughout the day x

@Jennifer Robertson i have tried this for a while but my biggest issue is that nighttime still drinks 2/3 /4 times and was a nightmare to get up so many times to heat little the cows milk..as during the night still using ready made formula , during the day i offer him so much food and still gets annoyed bcse he wants milk ..i gave up in the end and followed his lead but i know at some point we need to stop this..

Have you tried to mixed cow milk in the food, like give weetabix before bed, as he will feel fuller longer. Worked for my little one so stopped him getting up at night for milk

@Tammy i give him weetabix in the morning usually but i will try for evening x thank you 🙏 i am so sleep deprived, haven’t slept since i birth him a full night..its like constant newborn stage…every 2/3 h bottle of milk..

Have you tried the follow up formula as well?

@Tammy no, we haven’t tried yet as i thought must be in combination with the food and i feel he is eating little amounts and don’t want him to not get the nutrients..but i may be wrong here and dont know how to proceed

My boy, eat load one day and the next, he very little. Also don't give him snacks, give him food. If he doesn't eat and still hungry, give him the same food, sometimes they don't eat the set hours we give them, so take a break and go back to it in 30 minutes. That what i do

@Tammy i will try that, probably offer him to many snacks as sometimes i see he won’t have the meal and trying so hard to make him eat anything as i am desperate to sleep again. He has a nice weight so not problem there..but with solids feel like we are very slowly

I think sticking to your guns and keeping at it, will eventually work. Also if he gets up at night, have you tried putting back to sleep without milk?

@Tammy i have tried without milk just dummy and also just with water as HV advised me but both didn’t work, he is screaming with his eyes closed for milk..also he is drinking max 120 ml at once probably that’s why he want sooo often still
