Bottle refusal

Did you try stretching out baby’s feeds maybe your little one is ready to go longer between them

@Colleen yeah I’ve been trying 4 hourly

My 5 month old sometimes goes 5 hours or you may need to try changing the teat size of your bottles, we had to do that we didn’t realize they are age specific 😳

Mine did. We dropped a bottle and she started having more at each bottle resulting in more overall

is your little one formula or BF? My little girl is EBF and happily took bottles a few months ago, but she’s started point blank refusing.. she still refuses from me,but she takes it when i’m not around but she goes 5 hours before she’ll finally take it x

Yes last few days he will only take 60-90ml every 3-4 hrs!

@Jess how many bottles is yours having ? Mine wakes up and has a bottle still at 4am

She was on 6 in 24 hours with one being a dream feed at around 11pm but she started to refuse that bottle in particular so we didn’t wake her for it and she just slept through and next day started drinking an oz or 2 more at each bottle (5 between 6am-6.30pm) and is now drinking more on 5 bottles then she was on 6 bottles

my little girl could guzzle 10oz of breast milk after not eating for 5 hours! but breast milk isn’t as filling as formula, i was told by the HV that if they are hungry, they WILL eat, they will never starve themselves xx

So stressful. Not sure whether to keep offering or leave him longer between feeds. I just don’t want him to get dehydrated but I guess if his body needs it he will cry for it 🤷‍♀️ we’re on 7 feeds every 24 hours. He will take a full feed twice usually in the night though 🙈

Thanks all! My first was never like this he just drank and drank lol! I’m wondering if it’s teeth as his poo has been quite loose today! He did just drink a 7oz and I’ll give him one more before bed, I’ll just offer an 8oz just incase x

I would definitely up the teat size if you can. My baby was exactly the same before sizing up from a 2 to a 3, it was fast to start with but now she can do 6oz in 5 minutes and hasn’t refused the bottle since!

My little girl is the same, takes 3-4oz then it’s so hard to get the rest into her without disturbing the schedule. She’s now waking up at night to have a feed 🙈 going to try up the teet size xxx
